Which 3D filament for your lamps?

Quel filament 3D pour vos lampes ?

We use 2 types of 3D filament

PLA (Polylactic Acid)

PLA is the most popular 3D filament in 3D printing thanks to its exceptional ease of use. Made from renewable plant resources like corn starch, this bioplastic is easy to print at low temperatures (190-220°C) and offers compatibility with almost all 3D printers. Its high dimensional stability allows for precise prints without warping, even without a heated bed. PLA stands out particularly for the remarkable surface quality it produces: smooth finish, professional matte appearance, and exceptional rendering of fine details. Available in a wide range of colors and variants (satin, metallic, wood, stone), it offers infinite creative possibilities. Its use is pleasant with very little odor during printing, and its biodegradable nature makes it an environmentally friendly choice. PLA is perfect for decorative objects, prototypes, figurines, architectural models, and all creations where aesthetics and precision are priorities.

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)

PETG is the technical material of choice for demanding functional applications. Derived from the plastic used in the food industry, it combines exceptional mechanical resistance and long-term durability. Its remarkable toughness allows it to absorb shocks and stresses without breaking, with excellent flexibility that makes it a reliable choice for stressed parts. PETG resists high temperatures up to 80°C, making it suitable for hot environments and parts exposed to the sun. It offers excellent chemical resistance to oils, greases, and solvents, as well as natural impermeability that protects it from humidity and weather. Some variants are even certified for food contact. Its natural transparency allows for the creation of translucent or brilliantly colored parts that are particularly aesthetic. PETG ages remarkably well and retains its mechanical properties over time, resisting UV and outdoor conditions. It is the ideal material for functional mechanical parts, electronic enclosures, robust supports, durable fasteners, everyday objects, and any application requiring reliability and longevity.
